Our Sunday services include music to captivate you, draw you in, and prepare your heart to encounter Jesus. There is a time of prayer for your needs, and a relevant, life-changing message from God’s Word, not our own ideas.
And we haven’t forgotten our little people! There is a nursery for the youngest, Kid’s Church for ages Pre-K & K, as well as 1st through 5th grades.
While our youth join us for Sunday services, there are also special services, throughout the week, designed especially for them!
MEET OUR PASTORS
KEM & Susan Haggard
LEAD PASTORS
Pastors Kem & Susan Haggard have been in full-time ministry since 1986. The drawing of God, into ministry began at an early age for them both. Serving was what they learned from their parents, great grandparents, and even further back. So during college, when they met, Kem as a Business Major, Susan as a Psychology Major, they served on the weekends. So it came as no surprise, after they married in 1980, that they would serve in the local church in Nebraska. From there, they returned to college, focusing on serving and training, they served at Oak Cliff Assembly in Dallas, now known as The Oaks. Their first full-time position was at Rockwood Park Assembly, as Youth Pastors, for 3.5 years, then on to Central Assembly in Austin, Texas, from 1992 until December of 2000.
After two summer missions trips to Wrangell, Alaska, in ‘99 & ‘00, God directed Kem, Susan and their two children, Chris & Courtney to make the move to Wrangell. They came to share a message of hope for the teens of this island. In 2003, their ministry focus was expanded to encompass adult ministry, children’s ministry, as well as continuing youth ministry.
Together, with the rest of the family of Harbor Light, and other Christians throughout the body of Christ, we are partnering to serve God by extending His light and love to children, teens and adults of Wrangell, Southeast Alaska, and around the world!
FOUR CORE BELIEFS
SALVATION
The doctrine of Salvation forms the core of our Christian faith by proclaiming God’s victory over sin in our lives. This truth results in deliverances, healings and restored lives.
DIVINE HEALING
Wherever Jesus went, He ministered with compassion and healed the sick. Christ’s example showed an interconnection with salvation as many believed following their healing.
Our Lord continues to heal today and it is vital that the church preach, teach and practice this biblical truth. Scriptures command believers to pray in faith and trust God for the outcome.
BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
The doctrine of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is our distinctive. This truth explains the passion and power of our witness. Jesus promised His followers they would receive power from on high so that they would be His witnesses. We believe this truth is just as relevant today as our Fellowship continues to take the gospel message around the globe.
THE SECOND COMING
With the world experiencing natural disasters, economic downturns and increasing uncertainties on many fronts, the doctrine of Christ’s Second Coming is more relevant than ever. Believers must rest in the certainty of the imminent return of our Lord and share this hope with others.
